Crockpot Apple Butter BBQ Ribs

4 lbs. pork spareribs
salt & pepper, to taste
1 onion, quartered
16 oz. jar apple butter, (or homemade, if have it)
18 oz. favorite barbecue sauce

Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper. Place on rimmed cookie sheets or jelly roll pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Drain. Slice ribs into serving size pieces. Place in lined or sprayed crockpot. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Yummy!
