4 c. water

1 t. salt

2 large chicken pieces, cut into strips

pepper

salt

garlic powder

soy sauce*

4 T. cornstarch

2 c. cold water

2 c. rice, not instant

8 oz. beef, but into strips

leftover ham, turkey or pork

5-6 c. raw or 2-3 c. cooked favorite vegetables: broccoli, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, onion, green pepper, celery, mushrooms, etc...

4 T. soy sauce

2-3 T. oil

Heat 4 c. water and 1 t. salt on high heat until boiling. Stir in rice. Cover and reduce heat to low and cook for 20 minutes. Keep warm. Stir fry meat in oil over high heat until done, stirring continuously. Add vegetables and continue stir frying until vegetables are soft but not mushy. Add seasonings of your choice and continue to stir fry. *Soy sauce already has salt, taste before adding additional salt. Remove meat and vegetables from pan. Combine cornstarch, cold water, and soy sauce in bowl. Pour into pan to make sauce. Cook over high heat until thickened. Return meat and vegetables to pan and mix together with sauce. Serve over cooked rice.
